The Society supports the cultural and social aspects of twinning between 2 University cities (signed 1987) and to enhance interest in Hungarian matters generally.

A typical annual programme includes concerts – both classical and Hungarian folk – sometimes collaboratively with Lute Society/ Folk Club/ other College music societies; talks on history of the Danube region by University lecturer(s), modern European politics by a local MEP, films – in collaboration with the Anglia Ruskin University, art and/or other exhibitions – in collaboration with local galleries/ museums.

Local artists sponsored to attend Szeged Bridge Fair exhibited their artwork in January, "Musical May" saw 3 folk & 1 classic concert; forthcoming events include a "Hungarian Music concert" on 16/11/13,
Animal Farm – the film and talk on George Orwell and on John Halas, at ARU, the EU's next decade by Andrew Duff MEP.

Membership is free – and entitles attendance at winter AGM & Summer Garden Party (11/08/13)
