Friday 7 July 2017, 7pm
Birmingham European Festival
B1 2EP Birmingham, United Kingdom

Organised by the Birmingham European Festival and with the support of the Hungarian Cultural Centre London:
Waiting for Schrödinger
by Timothy and the Things

Translating scientific hypotheses into real-life connections. Referenced in this show's title, Schrödinger's cat is a thought experiment where an interpretation of quantum mechanics is applied to human interactions: based around a cat that may be simultaneously both alive and dead, it's a state known as a quantum superposition. This show puts that hypothesis into new contexts; colliding and interacting in a tense, slowly plotted arc of interrelated movements, the show's five dancers appear abstract and human at the same time.
Choreographer László Fülöp is based in Budapest, developing dance projects that explore the spaces between psychology and performance.
Watch the 30 minute version of the show at the Birmingham European Festival.

BE FESTIVAL (Birmingham European Festival) is Birmingham's annual summer performing arts festival, returning this year between 4 – 8 July. Their innovative programme of theatre, dance, circus, music, site-specific performance and visual arts celebrates the diversity and breadth of emerging talent from across the continent.
Based at The Birmingham Repertory Theatre (REP), the festival turns the theatre's rarely seen backstages into our hub. Every day, audiences can engage in professional workshops and chat to the artists at their Feedback Cafés - or venture out across the city to enjoy the site specific and visual arts programmes. Every night, audiences can expect to sample four performances, eat dinner together on the REP's mainstage, and dance into the dawn with the BE Late Stage programme of live music and DJs.

Book your tickets here.
