The Day of Hungarian Culture

22 January is the anniversary of the birth of the Hungarian National Anthem, written in 1823 by poet Ferenc Kölcsey, one of the most prominent figures of Hungarian literary history. Since 1989 anniversary commemorations have been held nationally and internationally on this day to celebrate and nurture the Hungarian cultural heritage.

To mark this occasion the amazing Folktone Band, committed to looking after living folk traditions in the Carpathian basin, will entertain us when we announce the winner of 'For Hungarian Culture in the UK Award 2017' presented to a UK based organisation that contributes to preserving Hungarian Culture in the UK.
