Jazz night in the Hungarian Cultural Centre
Escape the hump day stress with the help of some excellent jazz. Hungarian jazz guitarist Gábor Juhász will join forces with Russian born, now UK resident bass player Yuri Goloubev to produce your perfect Wednesday evening tunes. Visit the HCC to enjoy this unique musical collaboration.

Beyond mainstream, GÁBOR JUHÁSZ was a key figure in the development of Hungarian ethno-jazz and in his fusion work, his compositions are unique in employing the freshest currents of modern jazz, alongside musical dialects gathered from the musical traditions of Europe and beyond.
The Gramofon and Artisjus prize-winner jazz guitarist and composer teaches guitar since 1990. He has played with numerous internationally renowned musicians such as Archie Shepp, Palle Mikkelborg, Erik Truffaz, Charlie Mariano, Ian Ballamy, Lars Danielsson, Stephen James, Bebo Baldan, Federico Sanes, Theo Jörgensman. He was a founding member of the Tin Tin Quartet, founded his trio as well, and contributed on recordings of many famous jazz musicians.

Please find more information about Gábor on his website.

Russian born but now UK resident, the multi-award winning bass player YURI GOLOUBEV is an unquestionably international musician of considerable standing. Classically trained Yuri is the youngest musician ever to be awarded the prestigious title of Honoured Artist of Russia in 2001. Since then his commitment to Jazz has seen him move from a mix of classical and jazz performances to exclusively jazz. His fluent and powerful playing has been heard with the likes of Julian Arguelles, Tim Garland, Rick Margitza, Ralph Towner and Kenny Werner on a towering cv that includes performances not only throughout Europe but also Asia, North and South Americas, and South Africa. In the UK he is probably best known for his duo and trio work with the leading UK jazz pianist Gwilym Simcock.
