Join us for a cozy screening of the 1969 film The Boys of Paul Street, celebrating Hungarian Film Day.

In belle-époque Budapest, two groups of teenage boys engage in a mock war over one of the few vacant lots remaining in the city: the Paul Street Boys have long regarded the lot as their exclusive property; now the fearsome Red Shirts have decided to drive them out and take over.
As preparations begin for the battle and each side plans its strategy, Private Nemecsek, the smallest, youngest, pluckiest Paul Street boy is appointed to spy on their opponents.

The great Hungarian director Zoltán Fábri's classic is an adaptation of the Ferenc Molnár youth novel. An American-Hungarian co-production, the film was met with critical acclaim, and was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar.

The film will be subtitled in English. The screening is free, but registration is essential on Eventbrite. We regret that latecomers cannot be admitted to the event.
